Thanks to the wonderful, smartness (so talented) of Philip M. Hofer, the virus is smashed on the site, finally! Thank you for your patience as we worked to fix this behind the scenes.
Filed in Projects | Updates | Website Design Comments Off on Wow, February, you’re kicking my butt.
First of all, I got sick in the early part of February and had to cancel Philo on Tuesday 2/11/2025 with Steve Troop because my body wouldn’t let me. So my apologies. We’re re-scheduling Troop for later on in the season and will pick up with Chuck Whelon next week 2/18/2025 right where we left off. Same Philo time (9pm EST/6pm PST), same Philo channel (http://Twitch.tv/ArtGlych)!
We’re on our third story! I’ll finish laying out The First Book of Philo and start of The Second when I get a chance to breath, but they are on the drawing board.
I’m doing Urfspace Live! Saturday mornings (1pm EST/10am PST) also on my Twitch channel linked above. Below are some various drawings I’ve done on Urfspace over the years.
I’m working in Parker CO teaching Disney-Style Cartooning classes for 6-10 yo throughout February. it’s awesome. I’m having a great time. Here are my cards I made for my “How to” presentation for the first day. The second day we did a lot of clay building and drawing on the board and on paper. Next 2 classes will be focusing on changing forms, and then a final character.
The only thing I would add to this presentation that I don’t have here is the importance of “overlap,” because I think there’s a disconnect with that. These are scanned from books in my library for educational purposes only. I did not make these drawings.

The new WordPress doesn’t like long, thin comics anymore and kept shrinking this down to a width of 125. Most of it was legible, but barely. I broke it up, but it left ugly gaps. To get the clean, pretty version, subscribe to my Patreon.

Hi all! First of all, I would like to thank you all for sticking around with me over the years. It’s been a long road, but I’m making art again and actually creating. I’m in a good space mentally, creatively, and with my family, and am almost to a point where my daughter is at school all day during the week and I’ll have dedicated time to sit down and work on art. I’m still squeezing in time here and there where I can and doing Philo on Saturdays. Producing when I can.
Philo has been streaming live weekly on Saturdays. I think I’ve missed two episodes since I started the show in January. We’ve had an amazing cast of guest artists on the show, Robin Fisher has been amazing, and it looks like it will continue strong into 2025. I have artists books into February. I’m super excited to bring them to you and continue Philo’s wacky adventures. All episodes and full 9 panel-grided pages of art are located here.
I participated in half the month of Inktober this year before life got in the way and I wasn’t able to finish what had piled up by the end of the month. I finished 18/31. I might continue the list on my own, maybe on camera, not sure. For now, I’ll post the 18 under the prompts area of my archives for you all. I did a lot of good ones this year.
The Web Creative Community (Discord linked here ) is a place I recently joined as a community member, then a team member, then a mod. It’s a place where a bunch of creatives streamers are trying to support each other’s creative works. There’s a place for everyone, no politics, and a good overall cheerleading team vibe going on over there that is invigorating if you’re a creative type. Come on in. Join the discord. See what’s going on and share your stuff.
October was a tight month for the ol’ Glych household. Meals got creative. We were counting pennies out of the pig for gas. I borrowed (more) money from my mom for groceries. I lamented my worries to a friend who gifted me a sizeable sum to get out of the hole I was in and worry about making art. He wanted to remain anonymous, but I still wanted to say thank you, so we jotted down the donation in his cat’s name. I’ve added this graphic to my end credits as a thank you, but me being able to create over the next year is due to him. So Thank you.
I have a Patreon. I am making more things for it. I have my first two $10/month patrons! For them, I am singing a song and playing guitar. I am willing to dance for my monkey money. Should you join them, you TOO, shall watch the monkey dance! But I also have subscriptions as low as $1/month where you get a sketch a day. I’m in between of scan sessions for those sketches, but they’re coming. The monkey dancing is there, though.

Philo has been consistently updating LIVE every week, Saturdays 9pm EST/ 6pm PST. We just finished our first story a few weeks ago and are currently working through our second. Shout out to Robin Fisher for being my better half on the show and knowing more about comics and the industry than I do. She’s amazing to have as a co-host. I’m always learning from her. I’ve also been extremely lucky to have all these amazing artists as guests on the show so far:
Kay Kirscht
Dale Cipperley
Chuck Whelon
Stephen Notley
Casey Craddock
Steve Troop
There are more artists I’ve approached and are coordinating logistics with I can’t wait to share with you, but that will come. Until then, here are links to where you can find Philo, LIVE:
I’ve also collected the first story into a single long Podcast list on Youtube, linked below. So if you missed it the first time, feel free to check it out now!
Cartoonists Northwest asked me to be a guest speaker at one of their online symposiums next month to talk about my work and career for 1-hour. I still have a lot of prep-work for it and am not even really sure what I’m going to talk about, but I’ll know by the time of the lecture. If there is anything you want me to cover, get ahold of me before then and let me know.
I made a discord! Well, I made it a while ago, but I wasn’t sure how to use it. I’m on the edge of being a dinosaur. Anyway, I figured out how to invite people to the discord, so there it is. The discord is going to be a great way to get ahold of me and talk directly to me. I’d love to see you there.

I updated all of my online branding as I have expanded out to other social networks. Below is a quick card of where to find me. I hope I didn’t make it too difficult. If you’re part of one network and not another I do tend to post similar things on all of them, but try to spice up each one a little bit.
Hi all! Philo has been picking up speed over on Twitch, though the archives are available on YouTube. Here’s a link to the playlist of all of the episodes. Episode 1 is missing because it was my first time streaming it out to everywhere and it never connected correctly with Youtube, so it is now a “lost” episode. Episode 18 had to be redone due to technical issues the first time we tried to record it. If you want to watch live, I’ll be streaming tonight (Saturday 6/1/2024) at 9pm EST/6pm EST on http://twitch.tv/artglych Enjoy!
I want to make my Patreon something special and different from this website. I’ve been scanning in sketchbooks and posting there every day. We’ll stop posting daily when we run out of sketchbooks. I have a few boxes of them so it’ll be a while. Join my Patreon and get daily sketches! Here’s an example with a link to my Patreon. it’s a sketch of my mom I did back in 2010 after I had graduated from college.
